5th Annual ReadOut Festival of Lesbian Literature
A program of the LGBTQ Resource Center of the Gulfport, Florida Public Library
ReadOut is a free event and will take place online through Zoom
Friday, February 18 - Sunday, February 20, 2022
ReadOut 2022 will once again be a unique hybrid of live-streamed interactive Pods and prerecorded author readings in strings of Pearls. With the magic of Zoom, readers and participants may attend from anywhere in the world.
Call for Pods Submissions:
ReadOut 2022 welcomes proposal submissions for Pods, which are real-time panel discussions of 2-5 authors or workshops that relate to lesbian literature that take place during the Festival. We are accepting submissions for panels, workshops, and other interactive programming of 60 to 90 minutes in duration; topics must relate to literature by, for, and about lesbians.
Examples: In 2021, Susan Stinson and Sally Bellerose talked about how their friendship has developed along with their writing. In another Pod, the author of Queer Virtue, Rev. Liz Edman, was interviewed about how queer identity and experience can enrich Christian theology. More examples and descriptions of ReadOut 2021's Pods can be found here.
The deadline for Pods submissions is November 30, 2021. Just heard about ReadOut and wish you could have submitted a reading? Don't despair! Complete the application and we will review it for possible inclusion on a space available basis.

Details about how you may submit a prerecorded reading of your work for consideration for the Pearls are available here.
